PERSONAL GROWTH & TEACHER TRAINING

The Nia Technique is an expressive body-mind movement and lifestyle practice, integrating fitness and health. Nia creatively blends movements, concepts and philosophies from both Eastern and Western traditions.

By embracing the gifts of the healing arts, we embody sensation, the backdrop upon which all of our practice takes place. Martial arts and meditative techniques teach mindfulness, a powerful tool for self-discovery. Dance techniques teach how to move with grace and fluidity. And integrative body therapies help us understand how to self-heal through awareness and alignment that improves functioning. Various psychological tools support the self-guided process, allowing students to become self-empowered and to take charge of their own growth and well-being - a transformational experience in and of itself.

Nia Technique, Inc. is a recognized leader in the field of body-mind-spirit fitness training. Nia Intensive Trainings are offered in a variety of settings, from New York City's premiere fitness clubs to a secluded island retreat on the Sunshine Coast of British Columbia - to the breathtaking views of the North Carolina's Blue Ridge and Smoky Mountains. Intensive trainings in the Carolinas are facilitated by Denise Medved, a highly experienced 1st degree Nia Black Belt and a certified Nia Trainer.

The first of Nia's four levels of Intensive Training, the White Belt, is a week-long program which focuses on embodying body-mind-spirit basics and learning the elegant foundation of Nia, You may become a Certified Nia Teacher after taking this intensive or take the training for personal growth.

Thousands of people have trained in the Nia Technique, embarking upon a path of personal development and self-discovery, incorporating the body-mind-spirit techniques into their existing fitness, health and wellness practices. There are workshops and there are playshops. A workshop is a clinic, practicum, seminar, class or meeting where a group of people work on a creative project, discuss a topic, or study a subject. A play shop is exactly the same thing, except they are more FUN!

Playshops go deeper into a topic or subject related to the body, mind, spirit and emotions - and look for the pleasure.

Playshops are offered on a variety of subjects throughout the year and are posted regularly to www.niacarolina.com and www.NiaNow.com as well as this website.

May 1- May 3, 5 Stages Certification with Debbie Rosas, Asheville/Hendersonville, Sanctuary in the Pines, Highland Lake Retreat Center.
Description of the program
The Five Stages of Self-Healing use five simple movements that come from the body's natural and primitive processes which organically develop and grow and in healthy ways. When the body moves through the Five Stages of Self Healing, the body, mind, emotions, and spirit naturally realign, unify and integrate leaving a greater sense of wholeness, health and well-being. When used as a practice, these stages lead to changes that improve one's physical comfort, ability to move efficiently, and improvement in whole body functioning and posture. As a Nia program, this practice gives the somatic teacher more ways to use movement and fitness as tools for healing and personal growth, adding to their workshop and class offerings.

Following the successful lineage of the international program, The Nia Technique, the The Five Stages of Self-Healing Program serves as a program, method and practice people can do on their own, or in a class facilitated by a certified Five Stages of Self Healing teacher. Like all Nia training, The Five Stages of Self Healing provides opportunity to experience yet way to achieve somatic wisdom (The Body's Way), higher-functioning, healing, fitness and transformational results through self-guided, internally based, pleasurable movement.

Facilitated by Debbie Rosas, co-founder of the Nia Technique, this unique training is designed to for teachers in the fitness, health and wellness industry.

Open to current Nia teachers, and in the future will be available for instructors from other wellness fields.  Contact Ondine Constable at
niaondine@gmail.com for more information.  Contact Julia Hughes to register at 800-762-5762 ext.25.  $895.
